Kids Conference Store & Linky Party

I am going to try something new next weekend to help my daughter focus on listening to the conference talks. On Saturday I am going to put a jar of pennies out and pick some keywords that come up often during conference for my daughter to listen for during the talks.

For each keyword (prophet, temple, sacrament, prayer, etc...) she recognizes she will get one penny. At the end of each session she will have the opportunity to buy items out of the Conference Store, or save her pennies to buy one big prize at the end of the day. I filled a basket with different items like: stickers, a scripture bookmark, a notebook,a scripture marking pen, a puzzle, bubbles, candy, playdoh, etc... This is the first year I am trying it but I really think she will be excited to listen and collect as many pennies as she can :o)

Also take a look at my Conference Countdown Candy Lei idea and check out all the great Conference Ideas on my Linky Party...

Go ahead and link your conference related crafts, recipes, and ideas. And please link back to me, I would greatly appreciate it :o) And that way other people can find all of our great ideas in one spot too :o)

What a great idea! I don't have any conference ideas. My husband and I have just started treating General Conference like a holiday. We hope that will make our kids look forward to it like we do. I think the store idea will help even more!

that is such a good idea! I don't know exactly how it all works, but I am sure that is a great way to get her to pay attention! Thanks for linking up to Handmade Tuesdays @ Ladybug Blessings. www.ladybug-blessings.com

What a fun idea! I give my daughter a enny when she reads a book. I like your idea of the select your gift when you collect so many pennies.

We will buy toys for charity during Christmas with the collected coins.

I am having a giveaway on my blog. $20 store credit from My Carrie Creations to get a backpack with your kids fav character ( fancy Nancy, princessses, ballerina and more). Check it out.

That is so wonderful! I would LOVE for you to come link this up in my new linky called Homescholing on the Cheap! It isn't just for people who homeschool but for ideas such as this that is cheap for kids to do and something with which they can learn & grow. This is perfect for the linky.

It is new every Thursday but the link stays up all week. Hope you stop in and share!

THanks, Kelli

We have used bingo and conference packets for years for our kids - we tried the conference store this last weekend and my kids never paid so much attention to conference. We even made them pay their tithing on the money they "earned" and they loved it. Thanks for the great idea!

this is a great idea. last year I would givea ppiece of candy as my son would hear certain words. He LOVED it! but a month ago he got diagnosed with diabeties. and Even though he can still eat candy (he just has to get a shot everytime he eats anything) I found that mean to give him the candy and say wait till the end and you can eat it all at one time. So your idea I love. I went and got lots of little prizes and a few treats. he is going to love it. thanks so much.
